What do Joe Biden and Judge John T. Noonan have in common?

They are both famous this year for receiving the honor for which they weren't the first choice.

  1. Noonan, a former Laetare winner, isn't receiving the Medal. No one is getting it this year.

  2. Correct, but he is speaking in the "spirit of the Laetare medal" as a fill-in for Glendon. And this is after Fr. Jenkins said that they would find another recipient for the medal. I guess he couldn't find one.

I've decided to allow posting without moderation to encourage discussion; hopefully that won't have to change. Therefore, be aware that I may not necessarily agree with any of the comments others have made.

Oh, and by the way, sales pitches will be shown the trash can.
